Team Meeting - March 21, 2012, 7 PM - Wednesday
We had a healthy group of 15-20 at last night's team meetng at
Wegman's. Very briefly, we covered:
- Budget/Treasury - looking good as we start the promotion
portion of the year. Carrying over $8,000-$9,000 with a
projection to at least that well this year, if not better - based
on promotions. Dottie covered the bonus structure and, while we
had an outlay for clothing, it is much lower than some years
past.
- Membership - team membership is growing. Our total paid
members can be deceiving since we have a # of Life Members.
However, we have 3 new adult members and are receiving contact
each week from prospective members through Facebook and our
website. Please renew before additional charges after March
31.
- Junior Team- I communicated Doug's update and the push now is
to get members signed up and renewed for the year. Also, our
Junior Development clinic is on April 1 and sign up is building.
Will Federico is going to assist and we are expecting bike shop
support as well that day. More details to follow on this from
Doug. Jim Grill gave an update and the structure of the program
has been well received and we are exciting at the potential of
some our are elite juniors, as well as how all the juniors have
responded to our program.
- Clothing - our order from L. Garneau is expected in by the
weekend, or shortly after. Robert K. will set up a pick-up next
week and communicate directly. Champion items will be in by end
of April
- Sponsorship - Beth Rice, Dierdre Pitney , and me have updated
our sponsorship brochure and plan to condense it to a tri-fold.
We have some paying sponsors back and are still in discussions
with others. Most are expected back and Rich Szallai has also
offered to help us make some additional contacts. Our big push
now is for some sponsors to help us with events coming up and
race prizes.
- Team Promotions - after the Junior Clinic on April 1, we are
promoting 4 Time Trials, a joint stage race with Skylands, and
our new Flemington Criterium. Should be quite a year. See my
initial note for Readington volunteers. Our events through the
Somerset Circuit TT are permitted. Big news is that we received
townshop approval to runt the Flemington Criterium on September
2. Much more to follow on that from Doug and others.
- Race Results - Robert and Betty shared some results from
Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Mullica Training Series. Please
share your results with Bob Perlee as he does post to our website
all year long. Big fields thus far and fast races due to the
great winter and early spring weather.
- Training Rides - Juniors have had a structure program and Rob
Ryan has been leading cross-team rides all winter. The Cat 4
ladies are beginning coordination of some rides/training. More to
follow on that. There are lots of weeknight options around NJ
including the Sussex races/Rahway River on Tuesday and Greentree
on Thursday nights. Other options in PA. as well.
That covers most of it. Good luck with the start of the race
season coming and hope to see everyone out at our events racing,
volunteering, etc.
Thanks for attending.
